SERVICE FOR SIGHT

Volunteer service is at the heart of Delta Gamma’s work. Service for Sight has been at the core of the Delta Gamma mission since 1936. Ruth Billo, of the Eta-Akron chapter, was blind and petitioned members to adopt "Aid to the Blind" as our official philanthropy.

Thus, the Fraternity as a whole has continued to fund what has become "Service for Sight." For Delta Gamma recognizes the blind and visually impaired an under represented part of the community.

RAISING FUNDS

Financial support comes from many sources including our collegiate chaptersalumnae groups, individual members and more. Through this support, the Foundation provides grants to our members as well as to organizations across North America that promote sight preservation and aid to children and adults who are blind or visually impaired.

DELTA GAMMA CENTERS FOR CHILDREN WITH VISUAL IMPAIRMENTS

Delta Gamma funds five centers for children with visual impairments. They are located in St. Louis, Denver, Kansas City, Phoenix, and Los Angeles. These centers help children with visual impairments learn how to live each day by understanding their surroundings. Here, they can receive specialized aid they may not receive while at school.
